Pies 'n' Thighs

Finally made it to Pies n Thighs in Williamsburg. I ordered the fried chicken with buckwheat waffles.
The chicken was crispy and seasoned perfectly. The waffles were topped with cinnamon butter and apples. So good! I understand the hype of this place.

Colombian Breakfast

One of the best things about being Colombian is the delectable food. Traditional breakfast is my favorite and a staple in my childhood. I didn't live in Jackson Heights growing up, but I would literally visit every weekend. One of the spots I use to frequent was Native's on Northern Blvd. It closed down, changed management and reopened as Boulevard. The food is just about the same as a remember it.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Fall is in full swing and I'm already missing the sun and warm weather.

Lately

This past month has been busy and filled with paper writing, studying, shooting for The Campus (I'm a staff photographer for my school's campus news magazine), and getting everything together for my trip to Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. I'm leaving in 4 days!
Its a seven week long trip. I'm doing ethnography work and living in the mountains with a modern day Mayan family. Ah exciting!
These two are my fellow Anthropology majors.
These photos were taken for a Anthropology Department piece for the campus magazine I photograph for.

This is something I shot for The Campus for our 5th issue. This was taken on Lavender Week, which is
basically a carnival/party filled with music, food, free stuff, and games.

Stand4

A few weeks ago, I went to Stand4 for brunch. They have a brunch special for $24.95 with unlimited Bloody Marys or Mimosas!
They also have the best milkshakes I have ever had in my life.
Toasted marshmallow milkshake. There's a stiff version of this with vodka in it.
Sweet potato fries and salmon burger
Salmon burger with avocado and mac n'cheese and a few fried pickles on the side.
Salmon burger, tater tots, and two eggs sunny side up.

Restaurant Week: Craft Bar

I had the pleasure of going to Craft Bar for restaurant week. 3 course lunch for $25? Yes please.
Everything was really, really good. Here's what Paula and I ate!
Pecorino cheese fonduta
Seriously so delicious! Sweet & savory, cheesy, and a nice texture and balance.
Risotto balls
Veal meatball hero
Eggplant panini
The veal meat balls were so tender. Literally melted in your mouth.
The panini was simple but had such flavor. And those side of chips were perfect.
