Waiting

Around this time last year I was in between living in New Jersey and Brooklyn. Hurricane Sandy destroyed 1/3 of my house
and forced me out of my neighborhood for over two months. I was very fortunate that I had a house to go back to.
A lot of the houses in my neighborhood were completely destroyed. The following photos are from last April.
This is an art installation by Staten Island artist Scott Lobaido.
"The installation symbolizes the frustrating world of Island survivors of the storm. After lives lost, homes damaged or demolished, possessions ruined, most find themselves in a bureaucratic limbo, waiting for help that never seems to arrive." (for more info click here)
